The College will have 6 Divisions. These divisions have been mapped to be inclusive of the main modes of social work practice and will be established progressively over the next three years. Each division will have the potential to develop specialties which will reflect fields of practice.
Divisions and specialties will be communities of common interest.
The Divisions will be:
- Leadership and Governance
- Research and Education
- General Social Work
- Community Social Work
Division Members and Fellows will demonstrate high level education, practice experience, training and knowledge in this field of practice. The College will determine the standards required for each Division and specialty. The development of specialties will be informed by the interests of Division members and the development of relevant advanced practice standards.
Membership of Divisions and specialties is optional.
Applicants for admission into specialties must meet the requirements for the division and the specialty.
Applications to the Division of Clinical Social Work will be accepted from 1st July, 2011.
The Divisions of Social Work Leadership and Governance and Socio-Legal Social Work Practice will open during 2011-2012.
