The proposed amendments remove the blanket requirement for health professionals to report sexual activity for all children under 16 and replace it with a requirement to report such activiy in certain circumstances only, namely:
- where such sexual activity in not consensual;
- where a child is aged 14-16 AND
- where the age gap between the people is greater than two years
The amendments are the result of advocacy activities by the AASW and other health professions.
