The AASWWA AGM happens once a year, it is a time when members can come together and meet with the incoming Branch Management Committee (BMC), elect new blood to the committee and importantly meet and socialise with other members. The BMC will report on the activities of the Branch over the previous 12 months and inform members of the Stategic Plan for 2010-2011. There will also be comment on the current proposals of the AASW for structural and operational innovations which will have a major impact on membership: a College of Practice, CPE review implementation and Pathways.

This is also a good time to raise issues of interest to Social Workers which if not already a part of the AASW agenda can be added to the agenda for the incoming committee. You may be surprised to find your issues are already a part of our future plans.

There is one open BMC position which will be filled at the AGM. If you are interested in nominating for this position please submit your expression of interest to Sophie Mason (contact details below). Remember people with an interest in BMC activities can become involved with practice groups and are welcome to forward ideas for new groups.
