About the Seminar
This seminar is the third in the series of reflections on the breadth and scope of Social Work knowledge applied to various areas of practice and research. Bill Budiselik has expanded his knowledge base and qualifications during his Social Work career through employment as a caseworker, administrator in the government and non-government child care sector, as a private social work consultant, as a part-time member of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal, researcher and academic. He has recently submitted his PhD research on the topic of Child Safe Organisations and the applicability of the concept to social work's child protection project. During the seminar he will present his research findings, and comment on the experience of doing research.
This seminar would be of interest to anyone considering the possibilities of doing research, to social work students, and to practitioners working in organisations providing services to children and families.
Bill Budiselik graduated as a Social Worker from Curtin University in 1974 and was awarded a graduate Diploma in Business and Administration from Curtin's Business School in 1985. In 2007 Bill commenced his PhD at Curtin University within the School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work under the supervision of Associate Professor Fran Crawford, and Associate Professor Joan Squelch from the Curtin Business School. Bill is currently a part-time staff member within the Curtin School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work.
