A Discussion Paper on the AASW CPD Policy is due to be sent out to all members by the beginning of February 2012. This is a comprehensive document which the National CPD Committee commends to your attention because it gives vital and clear information about what continuing professional development offers our ethical practice , relevance to the consultation for the registration of social work, and a reassurance to the community, our clients and employers of members’ commitment to social work practice standards.

Members in the Metropolitan Area are invited to choose one of the dates to attend a consultation process for 1 – 1.5 hours to exchange information and ideas of how the current CPD Policy affects them and their work and professional practice. There will be no cost to attend, and refreshments will be provided.

Country members are urged to express interest in SKYPE consultations or teleconferences by emailing Anne Pickard stathan49@bigpond.com by 13 February 2012.

Members’ input will be recorded and forwarded to the National CPD Policy to contribute to the development of the current Policy for 2012/13.

Members can claim 3 CPD points for attending and contributing to one of these forums.
