    Full Event Description

    Fiona works part time as a social worker in primary health care and has many years of social work practice in the community here and in the UK. Fiona has submitted her PhD thesis researching women’s perspective of the effects of domestic violence on mother/baby relationships.
    This follows 3 years of study funded by a Commonwealth Government ‘Australian Postgraduate Award’ at Flinders University.


    During her PhD candidature Fiona has presented aspects of her thesis at the 16th International Conference of the Nursing Network on Violence against Women in Miami, Florida, the National Conference on Health and Domestic Violence in New Orleans, Louisiana and the International Congress on Infant Mental Health in Leipzig, Germany. She has also been invited to present at several interstate and South Australian forums.
