What We Do
ASWEAS Review
The ASWEAS Review has now concluded. A new Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS 2012) has been published and is available here.
The Australian Association of Social Workers is the body responsible for the accreditation of social work programs in Australia. Accreditation is the mechanism whereby social work programs are reviewed against the Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS), the national standards for social work education in Australia.
The Standards ensure that graduating Social Workers have the skills, knowledge and values to successfully enter the profession and to work in a range of contexts.
The AASW is currently undertaking an ASWEAS Review.
Feedback on the first draft has now closed and we thank all those who made submissions. The ASWEAS Review Reference Group is now preparing the final document for presentation to the AASW Board in September 2012.
