Country Guidelines - Hong Kong

Hong Kong Polytechnic University 
 


  • Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) (Two years following diploma OR a three-year degree)
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements (however, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work
    If completed in Mental Health or Family Centred Social Work, which includes placement, and follows the usual entry (Hong Kong Bachelor degree in Social Work), is usually assessed as meeting AASW membership eligibility requirements.
  • Master of Arts (Social Work)
    Assessed on individual basis

Chinese University of Hong Kong 



  • Bachelor of Social Work (two years following diploma in social work)
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).
  • Master of Social Work
    Assessed individually.
  • Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Social work (four years duration or three years since entry level became uniform with other universities in 1995)
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one-year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements. (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).

Hong Kong University 
 


  • Bachelor of Social Work (three-year course)
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one-year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements. (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).
  • Master of Social Work (two-year course)
    Usually assessed as meeting AASW membership eligibility requirements IF follows relevant Bachelor degree, and AASW field education requirements have been met. 


  • Master of Social Science (two-year course, following relevant degree)
    Usually assessed as meeting AASW membership eligibility requirements, IF AASW field education requirements have been met. 



City University of Hong Kong 



  • Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Work
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one-year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements. (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).
  • Bachelor of Social Work (Honours)
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements. (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).

Hong Kong Baptist University 
 


  • Bachelor of Social Work
    This is usually assessed as requiring a one year program in an Australian AASW-accredited social work degree course to meet AASW membership eligibility requirements (However, with substantial professional social work experience, the work experience aspect of Essential Criterion Five may apply).
