Australian College of Social Work
The Australian College of Social Work promotes and advances excellence in Australian social work practice.
Established in 2011 as a specialised tier of the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian College of Social Work recognises and acknowledges the highest professional standards and qualifications of social workers and promotes social work leadership and expertise.
The College and its members are committed to developing, maintaining and promoting collaborative working relationships with consumers of social work services, governments and industry. In particular, the College promotes the advanced practice capacities of its members to consumers and employers by showcasing its social work expertise and the potential of advanced social work practice contributions in Australian health and welfare services.
Since early 2013, the College’s progress has been driven by its Steering Committee. In that time it has coordinated a webinar based professional development program, revised the entrance and application processes for new members and contributed to the AASW National Symposia. The College has also developed guidelines for the establishment of specialist divisions and emerging communities of practice.
As the Australian College of Social Work is still developing, we welcome feedback and ideas from our experienced members. Our aim is ensure the College remains an important institution for social work excellence.
