The Australian Association of Social Workers has nine branches throughout the country. Each branch enables members to participate in and benefit from professional communities in their region.
Visit your local branch page for information about the groups, events and resources.
The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) delivers two Member News - one for all members and another for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, containing industry news, CPD opportunities and social policy and advocacy updates. We are a membership body of 12,000 social workers. These include student members, new graduates and private practice Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSWs), whose clients are eligible for Medicare rebates under a GP mental health plan (similar to psychologists).
Branch Management Committee
Each branch is supported by a voluntary Branch Management Committee (BMC) elected from, and by, the membership.
There are a number of AASW practice groups that have been established at branch level. They focus on a particular practice field or method. Visit your local branch page to find out more.
