Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS) 2017
The AASW has launched the ASWEAS 2017.
A review of the ASWEAS 2012 framework was initiated in 2016 to address the structure of the framework and improve the reporting and accreditation processes. It was important to address these criteria for social work education in Australia, including growth in the number of courses, resource pressures and the current pace of changing technology.
The aim was to articulate the requirements of Higher Education Providers to achieve and maintain professional accreditation. Therefore, two documents would be developed:
- The standards presented in a single document, reflecting a clearer emphasis on the agreed regulatory role of the AASW
- An Accreditation and Review Manual. This document is a work in progress.
