AASW QLD Winter Edition of Queensland Social Work (QSW)


The winter edition of Queensland Social Work (QSW) can be accessed by clicking the cover below.  This is the first time the North Queensland Branch have been involved in the publication and will continue to contribute to all future editions.  So please open, read and ENJOY!!

Members will now have received printed copies of the candidate summaries, ballot papers and return envelopes for the 2016 AASW elections.

Voting opened on 15 September, and completed ballot papers must be returned in the envelopes provided by 4pm AEDT Thursday 13 October 2016, when voting will close.

The spring 2016 issue of Social Work Focus which explores social work practice in family violence will be out soon. In the meantime, we are seeking stories for the summer issue which will explore social work practice in child protection. If you are a practitioner in this area, we are interested in hearing what you have to say by 7 October. Read our contributions guidelines and send us your story. We are currently looking for new committee members, especially in Mt.Isa and Cairns!!  You will need to be able to commit to a couple of hours a month to attend the monthly Branch Management Committee meetings and monthly network meetings and any other adhoc volunteer work for scheduled events.  Did you also know that any hours you undertake as a committee member also goes toward your CPD hours??  Bonus!!
