Research - recent social work graduates wanted in Brisbane

Recent social work graduates with between two and four years' practice experience post-graduation are wanted to attend focus groups/interviews in Brisbane for research.

The purpose of this research is to investigate how recent graduates perceive and respond to complexity in the contemporary human service sector.  Specifically, the pilot study seeks to gain an understanding of:

  1. What recent graduates understand as ‘complex’ practice situations and the sources of this complexity
  2. How recent graduates are socialised in the workplace to make sense of and respond to complexity
  3. What recent graduates perceive as the contributors to innovation in complex circumstances (e.g. qualities, processes, and strategies)

Findings will inform Social Work and Human Service (SWHS) educators’ and supervisors’ approaches to teaching and supervision to best prepare and support workers in an increasing complex service sector.

Please read our website for more information about is expected from participants and how to be involved.
