Social Work Focus: seeking articles and review panel

Social Work Focus: Blue Aboriginal artwork with burnt orange accent - starry night sky

Social Work Focus is our membership magazine. Please enjoy reading the latest edition.

We are seeking practice articles in line with the theme for the Spring 2018 issue, which is "social work practice with refugees and asylum seekers". The deadline for submissions is 3 August 2018. Read our contributor guidelines.

We are also seeking a review panel to read and accept the articles we receive. Please email editor@aasw.asn.au if you'd like to express interest.

Governance update - Constitution review

AASW Board election dates for 2018 are on our website. The nomination and election of Board members is the prerogative of the members of the AASW through the election process. As part of this process, we are continuing our series of articles on good governance. This e-Bulletin's topic is about the review of the Constitution, which members would have received an email about yesterday.

To ensure good governance and sustainability in any organisation, it is essential to periodically review and update governing documents so that they reflect current industry standards, legal obligations, and organisational requirements. We have emailed a discussion paper to members to review the rationale behind proposed changes to the Constitution. We encourage members to share their views by 29 June 2018 with our contact at Associations Forum, contained within the discussion paper.
