Your Distinction: Clinical credential

Your Distinction: Find out more

Last week we launched Accredited Clinical Social Worker credential, continuing our long-term commitment to building, recognising and promoting the expertise of our members.

The clinical credential is an emblem for clients, carers, the community, employers and other professions to recognise the qualifications, skills, expertise and experience of social workers in their field of clinical practice.

AASW continues to develop a Career Trajectory framework to support the career life-cycle of social workers from student to new graduate, through to experienced professionals, leaders, key decision makers and mentors.  Credentials will have a significant role in defining specialisation paths for social workers, and enabling them to access the development they need at each stage of their career journey.

Find out more about the new Accredited Clinical Social Worker credential. We have developed a set of Frequenly Asked Questions (FAQs), one being:

Q: Why have we introduced the Accredited Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) credential?

A: Our 2018 Member Needs and Satisfaction Survey resulted in overwhelming support for the credentials including 1,057 members who identified specifically the need for the development of a Clinical Social Worker credential. The benefits of becoming an ACSW are outlined on our website.
