Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathise with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict. It is the key to managing ourselves and our interpersonal relationships with managers, clients and colleagues. This webinar explores the key skills and behaviours of emotional intelligence, to build trust and rapport for high performing teams, and build a positive culture for effective quality service provision.
“Understanding and handling one’s own and others’ emotions is a critical aspect at every stage of the social work task: engagement, assessment, observation, decision making, planning and intervention.” (Training organisation for personal Social Services, 2004).
This webinar introduces concepts and practical skills in Emotional Intelligence (EQ) using the work of Daniel Goleman. His framework of EQ will be unpacked, exploring the five dimensions, the benefits, the behaviours and strategies to build skills for EQ development across each dimension.
"It was very enjoyable and I appreciated the added resources to explore further. Nice practical framework to apply" – training participant, June 2022.
