What do we do? What can we do?
This introductory workshop will provide a forum for you to learn about the skillsets that are commonly used and most helpful when providing support soon after a
disaster or significant event. We will look at trauma responses and how they impact brain and body and the evidence-based interventions that are commonly used.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed to provide emerging and evolving Social Workers with the beginning skillsets to deal with people who have been impacted by disasters and major traumatic events.
This workshop will not be recorded.
Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to identify common trauma responses and apply evidence informed approaches.
