NT World Social Work Day - 17 Mar 2026

Join us as we simultaneously unite in person in Darwin, in person in Alice Springs and online from across the NT for this special event celebrating World Social Work Day.

This standing breakfast event will bring together social workers, students, sector leaders, employers and invited stakeholders to acknowledge the contribution of social work in the Northern Territory and to strengthen relationships across the sector.

Our Harambee includes:

• Welcome to Country by Edwin Fejo
• A message from Darwin's Dr Andrew Richardson, Director - AASW National Board
• Guest speaker senior Larrakia elder Dr. Christine Fejo-King, Mary Moylan NT Social Worker of the Year award winner 2025 - an accomplished Aboriginal social worker, policy leader, and lifelong advocate for Indigenous self-determination and culturally grounded practice.
• Meet the new AASW NT Branch Committee, championing the AASW Blueprint for Change.

We hope you will be able to join us to mark the day and connect with colleagues across all social work practice areas. A special invitation is extended to social work students.
