QLD Branch World Social Work Week 2026 - Afternoon Session - 17 Mar 2026

Join us for our afternoon session of connection, learning, creativity, and critical conversation as practitioners, community leaders, and changemakers come together to explore this year’s theme of Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society. A light lunch will be provided.

12:30–2:00 pm Panel discussion exploring the question: “With the theme of Harambee in mind, how is your work fostering connection across communities, cultures, and systems? What are the challenges and what’s working?”

Panel contributors include:

• Dr Shane Warren, Griffith University (Racism on Campus)
• Debra Sitati, Principal Advisor - Engagement, Queensland Human Rights representatives
• Ebony Girle, Union representative (Social Work in the psychology sector – workplace rights and SCHADS Award)

3:00–5:30 pm Our day concludes with an NDIS Practice Group discussion and networking
