The art of art therapy: A modality for engaging clients
Art therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach that enables clients to express emotions, process trauma, and explore personal experiences in a non-verbal, creative way. For social workers, integrating art therapy into practice can enhance engagement, build trust, and provide insights that may not emerge through traditional talk therapy alone. This presentation will explore the principles of art therapy, its therapeutic benefits, and practical strategies for implementation across diverse client populations. Through case examples and interactive activities, social workers will gain practical tools to incorporate art therapy into their practice, enhancing client outcomes and promoting holistic well-being.
