We are delighted to have Dr Doris Testa join us to present on Interprofessional Relationships in a School Setting.
Most recently, Dr Doris Testa has worked as a Senior Lecturer within the Social Work Department at Victoria University, Melbourne. Having experience within both the education and social work sectors, Dr Testa's areas of interest are focused on student achievement and student wellbeing and teaching, and mind learning. Other areas of research and interest are cultural humility, modern day slavery and human trafficking.
This presentation will focus on interprofessional collaboration between social workers, psychologists and teacher who work together to support young people in secondary schools. Drawing on Doris' research from four Catholic secondary schools in Melbourne, Doris will discuss how interprofessional collaboration between social workers, psychologists, and teachers strengthens student wellbeing policies, programs and processes and has the potential to provide holistic and focused attention on student wellbeing. Doris will explore how effective interprofessional collaboration can expand the knowledge, resources, and support available to students, in turn support students' health and wellbeing. This presentation aims to support school-based social workers to use their expert skills and knowledge to support student wellbeing policies and programs.
