Come along to the first gathering of the Wheatbelt and Remote WA Social Workers group. Connect, get to know one another, and explore self-care while working in challenging environments. We would love you to join our community.
Join the Wheatbelt and Remote WA Social Workers group for a supportive and reflective gathering focused on self-care in challenging practice environments.
Facilitated by convenor Debbie Bates, this session will explore practical and grounding approaches to sustaining ourselves both professionally and personally. Debbie is a Senior Social Worker working across high-security centres in Northam and Perth, with experience in homelessness, family and domestic violence, sexual abuse and hospital settings. She also holds qualifications in Life Coaching, Mentoring and Reflexology, bringing a wealth of professional and lived experience to support others in their work.
Through connection, reflection and guided practice, attendees will explore the facets of self-care, grounding techniques, an experiential meditation exercise, and shared reflection. Debbie’s hope is that everyone leaves with a meaningful and sustainable practice to support their wellbeing at work.
