next live webinar 12 August AASW Webinar Program: Social Workers for Climate Action ..
Webinar (3-part package)

Join us for the Social Workers for Climate Action webinar program.

The Social Workers for Climate Action program introduces the novel area of green or eco-social work practice as it relates to the present and future serious risks posed by uncontrolled climate change. The program aims to give learners a broad understanding of the science underpinning the risk assessment of climate change impacts; and some of the possible implications of that risk assessment process for future social work service delivery.

This program is a three-part series designed to support Social Workers to make a difference to climate change within their practice.

Part 1 ‘Setting the Scene’ presents a global and local overview of climate change from the perspective of social work practice.
Part 2 ‘Talking it Through’ gives participants the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of experts.
Part 3 ‘Making it Real’ will showcase real-life case studies where social workers are making a difference and the lessons learned.
