In this talk Peter Munn examines the organisational framework and culture necessary to support advanced social work practice and helps to provide a beginning framework that will help it happen.​

Presenter

Dr Peter Munn is CEO of Centacare Catholic Country SA. The agency covers a large part of South Australia and currently there are close to 100 staff across the various communities where Centacare is based.

Before his current position he was the Deputy Dean at the Whyalla Campus at UniSA. He taught social work at the Whyalla Campus of the University of SA for 22 years and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of UniSA.

He has a passion for ensuring rural communities receive the level of human services that they deserve. He is well known throughout Australia for his research on rural social work, leadership and rural community development. Peter considers that having a positive culture is so important to an organisation being innovative and creative in its work.

He is a Foundation Fellow of the Australian College of Social Work.

Peter has had a long term commitment to rural communities which is evidenced by having lived with his family in Whyalla for several decades. ​
