The content on assessment will focus on tasks that field educators could be allocating to students that would highlight performance markers. The content on feedback will be about the latest research and practice on providing feedback on student performance in placement.

The contents is specifically relevant to social work education and has been requested by field educators on a number of occasions. Latest evidence and best practice will be used in both sections.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the essential elements of quality feedback and how that relates to student performance.
  • Analyse the challenges in having difficult conversations with students about performance.
  • Increase skills and confidence in assessing student performance during field education.
