The AASW WA Branch Field Education Special Interest Group is keen to welcome new members.
The group was established in 2015 to promote Social Work Field Education and provide a forum for an exchange of ideas and issues between the practitioners supervising social work students and the Universities that run social work courses.
The group understands that is it difficult for practitioners to attend regularly, so we encourage occasional attendance. Current members find the exchange of ideas about student placements and the access to information about social work education a useful source of support and assistance when dealing with challenges associated with supervising students. The group provides opportunities to feedback to social work courses and develop innovation in field education.
The Group would like to encourage those who are currently supervising social work students as well as those who are considering supervision to attend meetings or to connect with the group electronically.
Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every second month from 9.00 – 11.00 am.
Date: Thursday 3rd October 2019
