Welcoming social workers to our April meeting!
We are pleased to announce that Louise Pearson is our guest speaker, who is a member of this peer support group.
Louise has lived experience of disability and is self-managing her NDIS funds in flexible and creative ways to live a full and rewarding life. Louise is also a NDIS Local Area Coordinator (LAC) working with the Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL). Louise will tell us:
- About her own story and how she self-manages her NDIS funding
- Her work as a LAC with BSL
- The different options available within the NDIS for managing funds.
2 CPD hours
No cost to attend
This meeting is proudly organised by the Individual Funding Social Work Practice Group (IFSWPG).
The IFSWPG offers peer support and information sharing to any social worker interested in individualised funding services. This includes individual practice, community development and service system design in the disability and aged care fields amongst others. Disability services are being transformed by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and aged care by consumer directed care (CDC) and new roles and opportunities are evolving that are available to social workers.
