Effective leaders are skilled at fostering environments that support their teams to be resilient and thrive, even through the toughest of challenges.
“Who we are is how we lead” Brene Brown
Around 80% of a leader’s role has nothing to do with the actual skills of their team: it requires a different skillset, one that is new to many supervisors who find themselves in this demanding but rewarding role. These skills include the ability to engage, inspire, motivate, and drive their team’s performance.
Effective leadership encourages teams to deliver outcomes, support clients effectively, and develop individual team members’ potential. Most social work practices are needing to do more with less, and this key influence for performance cannot be overlooked.
This workshop will introduce you to critical leadership skills for navigating day-to-day workplace challenges and manage team behaviour and performance.
"The training was great. Lisa is very knowledgeable and kept the group engaged throughout. Lots of great strategies and tips to take away and reflect on." - Workshop participant, November 2021.
Who should attend? Anyone in a leadership role, who wants to understand how to support and motivate teams of social workers. Emerging and New Leaders are also welcome to join us in exploring this key skillset.
3.5 hours of CPD activity: Category 2, skills and knowledge
