Being a Mindful Professional

AASW (NT) is delighted to announce that local social worker, Toni Ryan (photo) of Insight Professional Services will be offering social workers, counsellors, allied health, support and welfare workers in and around Darwin this valuable development opportunity.

In this training, Toni will explore, what mindfulness is and the benefits and applicability for practitioners and clients.

About the Presenter

Toni has worked as a social worker for over 21 years in government, non-government, not-for-profit and private practice settings. Working in clinical and therapeutic, case work, assessment, supervisory and executive level positions.

A resident of the Northern Territory for 29 years, Toni specialises in counselling, mindfulness coaching, professional supervision, and the delivery of training and workshops.

Toni is passionate about the prevention of burn-out, compassion fatigue, and other stress related issues. Specialising in the development and maintenance of positive self care and mental health.

Who should attend

Suitable for professionals and students who have no experience in mindfulness or who want to build upon their current skill set.

Minimum numbers are required for the session to go ahead. Numbers are limited and priority will be given to AASW members.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the workshop participants will have:

  • an understanding of mindfulness and how to embody this practice in daily life

  • an understanding of the benefits and applicability of mindfulness interventions

  • increased skills from practice using mindfulness techniques (for personal and professional use)

  • information and further resources on mindfulness, including tools, video’s and other resources to continue practice.
