Topic/Guest Speaker/s: The benefits and information about Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a model - presented by Judy Barwick and Ann Walker.
Two of our well known members - Judy Barwick and Ann Walker - will be presenting to us on
the benefits and information about Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a model. Judi and Ann are well credentialed to present to us, as they are both trained in IFS levels 1 and 2, as well as numerous advanced trainings of IFS, and both have certified IFS supervisors.
IFS is an integrative approach to individual psychotherapy developed by Richard C. Schwartz in the 1980s. It combines systems thinking with the view that the mind is made up of relatively discrete sub personalities, each with its own unique viewpoint and qualities.
"IFS has been shown to be effective for the improvement of general emotional and mental well-being and has been rated as promising to improve symptoms of phobia, panic, generalized anxiety, depression, and certain physical ailments. Issues treated with IFS therapy include to name a few: Trauma; Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse."
"One that can help people heal and helps the world become a more compassionate place. IFS Institute welcomes all people of any age, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, ability, language or cultural background into the Internal Family Systems community."
"Self Leadership means living intentionally and fully from your core authentic Self= your true nature—beyond personality, narratives, and historical patterns of behavior. Since the inception of IFS, the approach has deepened into a path for personal development and a model for spiritual well-being.
