AASW Tasmanian Branch invited special guest Emeritus Professor Jim Ife to speak at the 2016 Annual Dinner. Jim delivered a moving topical address on the future of social work in the era of Donald Trump. If you are interested in history, politics, inequality, social justice or poverty and the intersection with social work, this talk is one not to miss!

Presenter details

Emeritus Professor Jim Ife is a well-known and internationally respected author, teacher and conference presenter on social work, community development and human rights. He was Professor of Social Work and Social Policy at The University of Western Australia and Curtin University, before being appointed the Emeritus Professor of Human Rights Education at Curtin University. Jim is the author and editor of several other books including Human Rights from Below: Achieving Rights through Community Development (2010) and Human Rights and Social Work: Towards Rights-Based Practice 3rd Ed. (2012).
