In this seminar, an overview will be given of attachment theory and the ongoing developments and applications relevant to all areas of Allied Health.
Attachment theory was originally seen to apply to babies but it is relevant to understanding relationships across the life span in all aspects of our work, eg helping us to understand our clients relationships, understanding our relationships with our clients and supervision relationships. The theoretical overview will be connected to these relationships to help participants to understand what may be going on.
Related concepts such as Reflective Functioning will also be explored:
● To review the key components of Attachment Theory
● To explore how Attachment Theory is relevant to the work we do
● To become aware of recent developments in the Attachment Field.
