The Program
The Marte Meo Program was developed by Maria Aarts in the late 1970’s in the Netherlands, and is now established in over 40 countries. The program provides a practical approach to supporting development through relationships in everyday communication.
It uses video review and interactional analysis to show practitioners how to use ordinary interactions to support children’s development and to pass these ideas on to parents and other significant carers. It is now also used in many other sectors, eg aged care and adult disability.
Marte Meo has demonstrated its value in these sectors in a number of ways including reducing aggression, and improved relationships with the family.
This Workshop is suitable for Social Workers, Allied Heath Professionals and Early Childhood Education Providers
Presenter
Sally Watson has worked as a social worker for over 30 years in a variety of settings including statutory child protection, community health, hospitals, child and adolescent mental health and infant mental health.

Sally has run a number of 1 Day Introduction to Marte Meo courses to a range of professions including, social workers, child care workers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, and disability specialists.
