The Essentials: Training Clinicians in Eating Disorders

The training provides health professionals with a solid grounding in evidence-based approaches for understanding, diagnosing and managing Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and the other eating disorders. It provides a foundational understanding of the medical, psychological and nutrition management components required for working with individuals with eating disorders. The Essentials package meets all of the workforce core competencies for the safe and effective identification of and response to eating disorders (except for one which is not in the scope of the package) as outlined by the National Eating Disorders Collaboration. It takes approximately 15 hours to complete.
The training provides a solid grounding in evidence-based approaches for understanding, diagnosing eating disorders. Including understanding medical, psychological and nutritional management components.
The program consists of 5 modules:
- Understanding eating disorders
- Preparation for Treatment
- Treatment Approaches
- Management across an inpatient and outpatient settings
- The 5 modules contain assessments and interactive content
To receive an extension for one month, there is an additional fee of: $50
Approximately 17.5 hours for the core curriculum
