Join us to hear Sarah Harvey, AMHS Remand Liaison Coordinator and Kim Wright, Community Integration Program Clinicial from Forensicare - Ravenhall to present an exciting professional development seminar, titled ‘Social Work on the inside: complex clients, systems and working towards positive change.’ Following the seminar, there will be time to engage in conversations with like-minded social work professionals.
During this workshop participants will:
- Learn how to approach working with people within the prison system using the Recovery Framework and the Good Lives Model
- Apply their learning using case studies to gain practical experience
- Understand the forensic mental health system, the challenges and the vast social work positions in the prison
AASW Melbourne Office

The AASW office is close to Flemington Road and near the Royal Women's and Royal Melbourne Hospitals.
Please note: Travel via public transport is recommended. The office is close to the CBD and a short walk from the Haymarket Walk/Elizabeth Street tram stop (trams 19 & 59) and the Grattan Street tram stop (trams 55 & 59). Parking in the area is generally on-street, metered parking and is limited. There are limited 2 hour free street parking spaces near-by in Courtney Street or metered 4 hour parking in Blackwood Street, Howard Street and surrounds.
The Blackwood St Car Park (located on the ground level the AASW is located in) is currently offering a $9 flat rate per day per exit between 7:30am to 7:30pm. You must book online prior to arrival so you can be issued a pin number to enter and exit the car park. Visit Blackwood St Car Park.

There are facilities available outside the building to lock bikes.
