Yes. In order to continue receiving the benefits and services of an AASW Membership, all current members are required to renew their membership by 30 June 2021.
Please note: You can renew your AASW Membership at any time during the renewal period (May and June). Your CPD requirements do not need to be fulfilled until 30 June 2021.
Yes. If you are currently holding an AASW Credential, you will be required to renew your AASW Credential Membership before 30 June 2021. This will need to be done in addition to renewing your AASW Membership.
Please note: Prior to renewing your AASW Credential Membership, you must also ensure that you have fulfilled your CPD requirements and have met your recency of practice requirements.
Yes. Renewing your AASW Membership online is quick and easy! Simply log into My Memberships and follow the prompts. For more detailed instructions on how to renew online, please visit our Renewals Process webpage.
If you are currently paying your AASW Membership fees by monthly direct debit, your AASW Membership type will be carried over and renewed automatically on 30 June 2021.
Please note: If you need to change your AASW Membership type for the new financial year, simply log in and go through the renewal process by selecting the 'Renew and change your branch/type' option.
Yes. You can renew your AASW Membership at any time during the renewal period (May and June). You have until 30 June 2021 to fulfil your CPD requirements and update your CPD record online.
No. All CPD requirements must be fulfilled and your CPD record must be updated prior to renewing your AASW Credential.
Please note: You are required to renew your AASW Credential Membership in addition to renewing your AASW Membership.
Membership Type & Fees
The cost of renewing your AASW Membership will depend on your membership type. The table below summarises the cost of renewal for each membership type. The table below summarises the cost of renewal for each membership type.
Please note, the Early Bird Promotion prices are only available to those that renew their AASW Membership between 1 May 2021 and 31 May 2021.
The AASW offers different membership types based on what stage of career you are in. The membership types offered include Full Fee, Reduced Fee, New Graduate, Retired and Student. The eligibility criteria for each membership type has been summarised below:
Full Fee: Those holding an AASW accredited social work qualification from an Australia tertiary institution, or a social work qualification from overseas that has been assessed and deemed eligible for AASW membership.
Reduced Fee: For those that meet the requirements for Full Fee membership and have a combined taxable income below the threshold of $51,168 per annum.
New Graduate: For those renewing or joining the AASW within two years of completing their first qualifying Social Work degree.
Retired: For members who have fully retired from paid employment in the social work field.
Student (Qualifying): Students that are currently enrolled in an AASW accredited Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work.
Student (Already Eligible): Students that are already eligible for AASW membership and who are currently undertaking full time Masters or Doctoral social work studies*.
*Eligible Masters or Doctoral social work studies are determined at the discretion of the AASW

The AASW currently offers payment via credit card, debit card, BPay or monthly direct debit. You will be provided with the opportunity to select your preferred payment type during the online renewal process.
If you require an invoice for your employer, there are three options available:
1. Bill Somebody Else: During the online AASW Membership renewal process, you will be given the option to 'Bill Somebody Else'. Simply enter in their details and you will be sent the invoice via email.
2. BPay: Select the BPay option and a tax invoice will be emailed in your name. You can then provide this invoice to your employer for payment.
3. My Invoices: After renewing your AASW Membership, log into the My Memberships webpage. Select the 'My Invoices' option in the left-hand sidebar.
You will need your AASW Member Number to log in and renew your AASW Membership online.

To reset your password, simply follow the process below
1. Go the My Memberships log in page
2. Select 'If you have forgotten your password, click here to reset it'
3. Provide your First Name, Last Name and Email Address
4. An email will be sent with instructions on how to reset your password
5. Follow the email instructions
An updated Certificate of Currency for this financial year will be made available on 1 July 2021. To download your Certificate of Currency, follow the instructions in below:
1. Log into the My Memberships webpage
2. Scroll down to the heading 'Certificates / Documents'
3. Click on the 'Certificate of Currency' link
