Culturally responsive and inclusive practice in Australia
Introducing new AASW resource: Preparing for culturally responsive and inclusive social work practice in Australia: working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
The AASW Professional Standards team, as part of the AASW’s ongoing commitment to its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), is pleased to announce the launch of this new practice information sheet on culturally responsive and inclusive practice. The resource’s primary target audience is internationally qualified social workers who migrate to Australia to commence social work practice; however it is relevant to all social workers practicing in Australia. The Professional Standards team wishes to pass on our sincere thanks to all those who contributed to the development of this resource.
It is intended that over time this new resource will form part of a suite of new and innovative resources and training for both ‘newly arrived’ social workers, as well as for Australian trained social workers, which will further focus on culturally inclusive and responsive practice.
