|Submission to the Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Sport Re: Inquiry into the Quality of Care in Residential Aged Care Facilities in Australia||February 2018||National|
|Submission to the Australian Law Reform Commission re: Elder Abuse Issues Paper
Preventative strategies informed by human rights principles need to be the foundation of the response to elder abuse in the private and the public lives of older people, and social workers are integral to services that cater to their health and wellbeing.
In this submission, we argue that the aged care system does not adequately consider the full range of psychosocial needs of older Australians and their families. A more comprehensive approach is needed in order to identify and care for those older Australians with complex needs that include psychosocial issues.
