Practice Resources in SA

There are several good web directories on employment in social work across South Australia:

One site which offers a range of statistical information on career prospects, pathways to employment etc is the SA Government skills information page:

National information is available via the Australian Government Occupation site:

Friday Afternoon Peer Skills Share

What is the Friday Afternoon Peer Skills Share Group?

We meet for CPD purposes to share our expertise as clinical social workers (not necessarily college members). This is an opportunity to learn valuable skills from peers on a mutual aid basis vs dollar exchange, and practise presenting in n a supportive environment. Most current members have lengthy professional experience and a variety of specialisations, and all clinicians of any level of experience are welcome.

What are the Friday Afternoon Peer Skills Share Group's main activities?

We take it in turns to lead a 2 hour workshop for group members, every 6 weeks. The cost of attending is signing on to provide a workshop.

The group is focussed on education via the topic presented vs general support.  The workshop format is up to the presenter and may have an experiential component, information and /or case examples. Members may be invited to contribute perspectives from their preferred framework or experience. The emphasis is on minimal formality and appreciating and exploring the contribution of the presenter and members, rather than assessing.

How can I get involved?

Contact the convenor to check current group numbers. The meeting room holds 12 people. Sign up to do a presentation and come along!
