AASW is aware of the devastating floods affecting Queensland and New South Wales, including the growing number of fatalities. The floods are highly distressing and volatile to many people and will have long term impacts. The AASW recognises and pays tribute to those assisting with flood recovery and those individuals and groups on the front lines of evacuation centres, including social workers. We know there are many of you who would like to help. Register at Volunteering Australia’s website if you wish to assist: https://register.emergencyvolunteering.com.au/
Many of you will be personally affected – make sure you keep up-to-date with local announcements and your local government area’s social media accounts. Stay safe.
When you join the AASW you’ll become part of an active and vibrant community of more than 17,000 social work professionals. As the profession’s peak body, the AASW is committed to maintaining high standards, ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
