To provide a forum for discussing the social work perspective in working with family violence . Specifically, the group will:
- Function as a peer group in which contemporary, professional issues can be discussed. (This is especially important in light of the recently released recommendations of the Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence, and the potential role for Social Workers and the AASW in the implementing of these recommendations.
- Plan, develop and provide advice to the AASW on continuing professional development activities that encourages the development and continuation of social work skills in the area of family violence
- Contribute to discussions on policy positions and submissions with the AASW in the area of Social Work contributions and practice in Family Violence.
