Practice Group Meetings 2016
World Social Work Day 2016
On Tuesday 15 March, eighty Victorian social workers joined together to share a hearty breakfast and to celebrate World Social Work Day at the beautiful Studley Park Boathouse on the Yarra River in Kew.
We were fortunate to hear the remarkable Professor Cathy Humphreys (Professor of Social Work at the University of Melbourne and Co-Director of the Melbourne Alliance to End Violence Against Women and Their Children) deliver an inspiring speech entitled Intersections between Social Justice, Social Work and Domestic Violence.
The annual breakfast proved to be a wonderful opportunity to network, to share a sense of solidarity, and to reflect on our role as social workers.
