We are excited to have Amanda Hicks present on:
Where do we fit in as Social Workers in the NDIS? This presentation will be an open discussion on how Social Work is viewed within the NDIS, how we can mitigate barriers and advocate for ourselves and the individuals and communities we serve. A human rights and social justice view of the NDIS.
Amanda is an AASW Social Worker, Educator, Lecturer and Advocate. Her passion is in working with children and adolescents who are experiencing the challenges of life, be it due to learning difficulties, trauma, anxiety or behaviour. As an extension, she is passionate about family relationships and the disability sector. Central to the work she conducts with children and adolescents is the relationship within the family unit and how this impacts their functioning. Amanda has worked in education and disability for over 30 years and is honoured to be a Social Worker.
