Thanks to the contributions of so many outstanding members, during the past 77 years the AASW has grown from a fledgling association of only 400 members, to be the peak professional body for social workers across Australia with more than 17,000 Members.

Throughout the AASW’s amazing journey there have been some extraordinary Members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty and made significant and sustained contributions to the AASW.

Since its inception, 54 distinguished Members from across the social work profession have received the prestigious AASW Life Membership.

We are proud to continue to acknowledge outstanding AASW members that are worthy of recognition, and who have made significant and sustained contributions to the AASW.

Nominations are now open for AASW Life Membership, so if you have an interest in nominating a Member who has made a significant and sustained contribution to the AASW, please take a look at the Guidelines and Nomination Form.

 Nominations for Life Membership will close on Friday 22 September 2023.  The Board will announce the 2023 Life Memberships at the Annual General Meeting on 09 November.
