Practice and Networking Groups
The AASW supports a number of Practice Groups in each state/territory which focus on specific areas or methods of social work practice. These Practice Groups facilitate collegial support and information-sharing among social workers and provide opportunities for professional development. Practice Groups operate at the Branch level and meet via Zoom or in person. They are primarily for members within the relevant Branch, although members from other states/territories can participate.
Networking Groups are also run by AASW Branches. These groups also meet via Zoom or in person, and may be based on an area of professional interest, specific geographical location, or other practice-related purpose.
Visit your branch page to find out more about the Practice Groups and Networking Groups available through your branch.
You can also connect with other members virtually through the growing number of Discussion Groups in the AASW Community Hub, which focus on different areas of practice and career stages in social work. Discussion Groups provide opportunities to connect with other social workers across the country, anytime and from anywhere.
