Branch Management Committees

Nominations from financial and life members of the Association are now being called for the Branch Management vacancies arising in 2025.

Branch Management Committees (BMCs) (variable)

BMCs consist of a Branch President, a Branch Vice-President and not less than four (4) and no more than ten (10) ordinary members. Vacancies on offer for 2025 are set out below.

ACT Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch President, for a one-year term expiring 31 October 2026
  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two year terms expiring 31 October 2027

New South Wales Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5)  Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

North Queensland Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

Northern Territory Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

Queensland Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

South Australia Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

Tasmania Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

Victoria Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

Western Australia Branch

  • One (1) BMC Branch Vice President, for a two-year term expiring 31 October 2027
  • Five (5) Branch Management Committee positions for two-year terms expiring 31 October 2027.

“First Past the Post” Voting System

The Association has adopted a “First Past the Post” voting system, whereby the candidate who polls the highest number of votes is elected. This voting system applies to Branch Management Committee ballots.

Voting by electronic means

All elections will be conducted by electronic means. The Returning Officer will administer the candidate profiles to be incorporated as part of the electronic voting process and will liaise directly with AASW members regarding the process.

Send your completed Nomination Form and Candidate Statement (maximum 50 words) to [email protected] by 12 noon (AEST) Thursday, 11 September 2025.

Returning Officer

The Association has appointed Vero Voting (“Vero”) as the Returning Officer for the 2025 elections.  Vero will handle the nomination process, the electronic voting process and declare the results of the election within 24 hours of the polls closing.
