ACT branch re-established: strengthening local connections
5 February 2026
The ACT Branch has now been re-established and is up and running.
Strong member engagement starts locally. That is why the Australian Association of Social Workers has renewed its commitment to active, connected branches across the country.
With new office holders appointed and a Branch Management Committee in place, this marks an important moment for social workers in the ACT. We’d like to introduce Susan Penn-Turrall as ACT Branch President, Alexandra Rawson as Branch Vice President, and Sheri Davis-Hall, Sue Houghton, Liz Williams and Kai Zhang as the newly appointed ordinary members.
This refresh creates new opportunities for members to shape branch activities.
What happens at branches matters nationally, with strong local voices helping to inform policy, strengthen the profession and impact the future of social work across Australia.
