Watch the 1.5 hour recording of AASW's Sharpening the Focus: NDIS and Private Practice Social Work webinar.

Are you getting the most out of the NDIS as a private practice social worker? Do you want to diversify your caseload to attract more meaningful and rewarding work? Are you struggling to navigate the NDIS rules and find your place in the NDIS service landscape?

Social Workers in private practice have the opportunity to become preferred service providers for NDIS participants. They have the skills and experience to become more clinically relevant to the NDIS, with scope to offer services that compete with existing providers in the field.

This webinar will explain the NDIS service system and your social work role within it, providing strategies to market and promote your point of difference to build a stable and professionally rewarding caseload of NDIS Participants for the long-term.

Common service delivery challenges and misconceptions will be clarified including:

  • Service Agreements, item numbers and cancellations
  • Key language and terminology to use in letters and reports
  • NDIS funding (core supports, capacity building and capital)
  • Practice issues (neurodevelopmental conditions and psychosocial disability)

Additionally, the scope of social work in the NDIS will be traversed with on-the-ground tips and hints (including traps to avoid) when working within the NDIS service system.

A quiz and additional resources are also included.

"It was exceptional - I am so impressed by the knowledge imparted and the clarity in which this was presented" – webinar participant, August 2022.

Who should register? Social Workers in private practice who want to understand how the NDIS can diversify their referral streams and increase their NDIS knowledge and skills. Any social worker who wants to collaborate more effectively with NDIS representatives and service providers.
