This course focuses on key topics in mental health, neuro-chemistry, depression, suicide and substance abuse. This course was developed with the support of the Rural Health Continuing Education Stream Two funding through the National Rural Health Alliance. The course was highly rated by our test participants, and provides both a solid introduction to the topics and advanced knowledge. It also serves as a foundation for further study.

Presenter details
Bryan Jeffrey runs MOAT:Mental Health Services, delivering training to practitioners and carers. He is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and has held senior clinical positions in child, adolescent and adult mental health services in Scotland and Australia.

This is a SWOT course, originally developed through some special funding on offer by the Rural Health Continuing Education Stream. Funding allowed this course to continue to be on offer to all, after the intial pilot project was completed in 2013-2014.
