Ally Smith is an accredited social work supervisor and Director of Ally Smith Consulting, specialising in supervision and business coaching for private practitioners in health and human services. With over 30 years’ experience in leadership, direct practice, and professional development, Ally describes herself as “a social worker’s social worker”, deeply committed to social work values, ethical practice, and supporting practitioners to do complex work well.

As Tasmanian Branch President, Ally works with the Branch Management Committee to strengthen connection and engagement between Tasmania’s social work community and the national Association. Together, they collaborate with branch members, the AASW Board, and local stakeholders to ensure Tasmanian social workers feel heard and supported, while creating meaningful opportunities for professional networking and development. Ally is committed to fostering a connected, engaged social work community in Tasmania and contributing to the positive cultural change underway within the Association.
